GROM Rec

GROM Rec is a free field recorder made for quick, easy recording of sounds and ideas, wherever you are. With a little creativity you can catch your musical ideas on the spot, then build them up in the PRO studio on several channels, mix and master them, as far as your phone allows. RECORD - FREE • One tap to record, one tap to drop a marker while it rolls • Pre-record keeps the seconds before you tapped, auto-record waits for sound • High-quality WAV: 44.1 or 48 kHz, 16 or 24-bit, mono or stereo • Keeps recording with the screen locked EDIT - FREE • Trim, fades, split at markers, punch-in and re-record • Normalize, gain, noise gate, Reduce noise and Clean voice • EQ, compressor, limiter, reverb and delay on a take, and pitch and autotune for fun • Export takes as WAV, or as MP3 when you need a smaller file STRAIGHT INTO GROM - FREE Scan a QR code once and your takes go over Wi-Fi straight into GROM, the BySFX sound design instrument for Windows and macOS. No cable and no cloud. STUDIOGROM - PRO, ONE PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION • Channels on one timeline: record over what is there, with loop and punch-in • Move, trim and fade clips, and line takes up with Align • A mixer with fader, pan, mute, solo, inserts and sends on every channel • A master chain with a limiter and a LUFS meter • Chorus, flanger, phaser, de-esser, stereo width and presets for every job • Import MP3 (converted automatically to WAV, the main format) or WAV tracks • Export one channel, the whole mix or the master, as WAV or MP3 • Scene, take and notes written inside the WAV (iXML and BWF), read by any DAW • Monitor through headphones, and a line or instrument input ABOUT LATENCY Recording latency is different on every phone. GROM Rec keeps it as low as your phone allows: it measures and calibrates the delay for the speaker or wired headphones, estimates it over Bluetooth, and corrects new takes. Anything left is quick to fix by dragging a clip or with Align. NOTHING IS COLLECTED No sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. The app asks for the microphone so it can record, and for the camera only to scan the pairing QR code. Recordings stay on the phone unless you send them somewhere yourself.
