Full description
Sector Collector is a GPS-based location game that turns walks and bike rides into a map-based exploration challenge. If you enjoy geocaching or turfing, you'll feel right at home: instead of hunting hidden caches or specific zones, the world is divided into 100 × 100 meter sectors. Enter a sector while tracking conditions are valid to add it to your collection, earn points, and expand your explored area. Watch your progress update on the map in real time. Sectors collected today are shown in pink, sectors from earlier days in purple, and available Golden Sectors in gold. The live map displays sectors collected today, your current daily streak, distance traveled, speed, and GPS accuracy. You can also show your route as a trail or switch between standard and satellite maps. Golden Sectors are generated across the map each day. A Golden Sector can be collected once per user that day, even if you previously collected its normal sector. Collecting one awards 50 bonus points and marks its sector plus the eight surrounding sectors as collected; only previously uncollected sectors add to your normal sector total. Build your Largest Square by completing a solid square of connected sectors. Your best square is outlined at its real location on the map and contributes its area multiplied by 10 to your point total. For example, an 8 × 8 square adds 640 points. Maintain a daily streak by recording tracking activity on consecutive days. Streak scoring begins at two days, when those two days contribute 100 points, and each additional day in your best streak adds 50 points. Missing a day resets the current streak, while your qualifying best streak remains part of your score. Compare your progress on the global leaderboard, which shows each player's nickname, total score, collected sectors, Golden Sectors, Largest Square, and best streak. A separate weekly ranking counts sectors collected from Monday 00:00 UTC and resets each week. Expand a leaderboard entry to see its score breakdown. Players can optionally share their collected sectors for spectating. Sharing is off by default. If another player enables it, you can open their leaderboard entry to view their sectors and Largest Square without seeing their trail or collection dates. Your own tracking state is not changed while spectating. Sector Collector is intended for walking and cycling rather than driving. New sectors are recorded only while speed is below 25 km/h and GPS accuracy is within 15 meters. Tracking pauses when either limit is exceeded and resumes when both conditions are valid. Choose High GPS activity for more frequent updates and a more detailed trail, or Low to reduce battery use on longer activities. Tracking continues when the screen is locked or you switch to another app, subject to the device's background-activity and battery-saving restrictions. You can open your latest location in the device's maps app or press and hold a map location to send walking, cycling, or driving directions to it. Sign in with a supported account provider to sync your progress, then choose the nickname shown to other players. From My Profile, you can change your nickname, select GPS activity, control sector sharing, or permanently delete your account and associated game data. Explore new routes, fill gaps in your map, collect daily Golden Sectors, build a larger square, and compete through points, weekly activity, and streaks.
