Bridge Budget is a pocket engineering challenge: design a bridge that spans the gap, stays within your materials budget, and survives the load test. You are the field engineer. A canyon, creek, or harbor opening sits between two anchors. Place joints, connect beams, add supports, and string cables — then roll a truck across and see if your structure holds. HOW TO PLAY • Place joints on the build grid • Connect them with beams, supports, or cables • Watch your budget as every member costs materials • Choose Light, Rated, or Heavy load cases • Run the test and reinforce weak points if something fails THINK LIKE AN ENGINEER Stability and cost pull in opposite directions. Overbuild and you blow the budget. Underspend and the span collapses under stress. Triangles, mid-span bracing, and smart material choices matter — just like real structural design. MATERIALS • Beam — strong all-rounder for compression and bending • Support — stiffer bracing where loads concentrate • Cable — lighter and cheaper, best used in tension CAMPAIGN Five increasingly difficult spans: 1.
