Speak Southeast Asia. Bolo! teaches you to SAY things, out loud, in ten Southeast Asian languages: Thai, Vietnamese, Khmer, Lao, Burmese, Tagalog, Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay and Indonesian. Most apps have you tapping words into a box. Bolo! listens. You say the phrase, it hears you, and it tells you how close you got. So the first time you order kopi or ask for the bill, you have already said it out loud a hundred times. THE JOURNEY Follow the old Nanyang sea route, one water for each language. Six zones, ten stops in each, from a lantern-strung jetty at dawn to a festival harbour at night. Every stop is a small set of phrases you will actually use. WHAT YOU LEARN Greetings and manners. Family. Getting around. Food and drink at the kopitiam. Markets, money and bargaining. Festivals and celebrations. Thousands of phrases, chosen for travelling and for talking to family.
