Full description
What is that tree in the park? The mushroom by the trail? The bird you can hear but never see? WildEcho identifies living things from a photo, a sound, or just a description, and tells you what you are actually looking at. IDENTIFY ALMOST ANYTHING ALIVE • Plants and trees: species, and the cultivar when it is clear, plus whether it is native, introduced or invasive where you are. • Wildlife: birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish and more. • Fungi: species where the evidence supports it, genus where it does not, with the look-alikes that matter. • Pets: your dog or cat, down to the breed. THREE WAYS TO ASK • Photograph it: point your camera and get an identification in seconds. • Record it: capture a call and WildEcho names the species from its sound. Best for birds, frogs and insects. • Describe it: type what you saw or heard, "white flowers on a shrub", "deep hooting from the forest", and WildEcho names the most likely species. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT DOES NOT KNOW WildEcho tells you when it is unsure instead of inventing a confident wrong answer. Fungal identification from one photo is genuinely hard, so it says so, names the dangerous look-alikes, and never tells you that anything is safe to eat, forage or brew. Not for berries, not for mushrooms, not ever. KNOW MORE THAN A NAME Every identification comes with habitat, range, size anchored to something everyday, conservation status, flowering season for plants, known toxicity where it matters, and a fact worth repeating. A walk becomes a discovery. TUNED TO WHERE YOU ARE WildEcho uses your location and the season to surface what is actually around you right now, not a generic national list. BUILD YOUR FIELD JOURNAL Every find is saved to your personal library. Level up from Egg to Echo Master, earn badges, keep a daily streak and watch your naturalist skills grow. TRIP GUIDE Name a trip and log everything you find along the way, then share the report. TRY IT FREE Start with free identifications. No account needed, no sign-up wall. Upgrade to Pro any time for unlimited IDs, full species profiles, Trips with GPS matching, streaks and badges, and rare-species alerts. WHO IT IS FOR Gardeners working out what is already growing in the beds. Walkers who want to name the trees on the route. Foragers who need to know what they must not touch. Parents answering "what is that?" on the way to school. Birders, herpers and budding naturalists building a life list. Dog and cat owners curious about a breed. WildEcho is a plant identifier, a tree identifier, a mushroom identifier, a bird identifier and an animal identifier in one app. Whether you are trying to identify a plant from a photo, name a wildflower or a weed, work out which tree you are standing under, identify a bird by its song, or find out what is calling from the pond at night, WildEcho turns "what was that?" into "I know exactly what that is." Identification is AI-assisted, for learning and enjoyment. It is not a substitute for expert guidance, and never a basis for deciding that anything is safe to eat.

What's new

Species photos now appear on every result. Subscription details name the right store, the app icon is sharper on more phones, and WildEcho now asks for approximate location instead of precise.
