Full description
Step into a world where history, culture, and technology collide. The Black Realities app transforms the way we experience place-based storytelling by using augmented reality (AR) to bring Black history and culture to life, where it happened. Designed to honor the legacies of Black communities while embracing the possibilities of the future, this app invites you to see familiar spaces in completely new ways. Our first launch experience begins in New Orleans at the André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts and Cultural Justice, where the story of Captain André Cailloux: Civil War hero, freedom fighter, and cultural icon unfolds before your eyes. Through powerful AR visuals, immersive audio, and narrative-driven design, public spaces transform into portals where memory and imagination meet. And this is just the beginning! Black Realities isn’t just about looking back, it’s also about looking forward. Our platform is designed to grow, expand, and evolve with every update, offering new AR experiences across different cities, landmarks, and cultural moments. Soon, you’ll be able to travel through time and across borders without leaving your neighborhood, connecting the past, present, and future of Black culture in ways that have never been possible before. At its core, the Black Realities app is about claiming space and preserving culture without waiting for permission. We believe technology gives us the power to tell our own stories, amplify our own voices, and build living archives that belong to the communities they represent. With each experience, you’re not just witnessing history, you’re participating in it, and shaping how it’s remembered and shared. Whether you’re exploring the legacy of André Cailloux, tracing the footsteps of unsung heroes, or discovering the creativity and resilience that define Black culture worldwide, the Black Realities app makes every journey immersive, interactive, and unforgettable. As more experiences are added, you’ll have access to a growing network of AR tours, cultural storytelling projects, and digital installations that celebrate the full spectrum of Black history, art, and community. Download the Black Realities app today and be among the first to experience the future of cultural storytelling. Join us now for the launch at the André Cailloux Center and stay tuned as we unveil new experiences, new voices, and new ways to explore Black history, creativity, and culture through the power of AR. The story is only beginning.
