Bito Chat

Bito Chat is a private messenger with no servers. Your phone connects directly to the people you chat with, every message is end-to-end encrypted, and nothing is stored on any company's computer, including ours. CONNECT WITH A 6-CHARACTER CODE Your phone shows a short code that changes every few minutes. Read it to a friend, or let them scan it with the camera, and you are connected. No phone number or email is needed to find each other, and people can only reach you when you share your code. GROUP CHATS UP TO 10,000 PEOPLE Tap Join inside a chat to add someone with their code. Everyone in the chat receives messages directly from the other members' devices. Tap the chat title to see who is in it. SEND FILES UP TO 2 GB Share photos, videos, documents and other files. Nothing downloads automatically: a file is only saved when you tap Download and choose where to keep it. Every file is checked when it arrives, so you know it is complete and unchanged. VOTES AND REACTIONS • Start a vote with up to 6 options. Results appear after you vote, and every vote is final. • Press and hold any message to react with an emoji. • When 51% of the members dislike a message, it is removed for everyone. AN ADMIN CHOSEN BY THE GROUP In larger chats, anyone can ask to become admin. With yes votes from 51% of the members, they become admin, with a special badge and message style. The admin can remove messages and warn members, and every admin action is shown to everyone in an admin log. If the admin leaves, the group can elect a new one. YOUR PRIVACY, YOUR RULES • End-to-end encryption (AES-256-GCM) for every message and file • No servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking • Hide my name: appear as "Hidden user" with a short ID • Warnings when someone with a hidden name joins • Keyword filter: messages with words you choose never appear • Your account lives only on your phone, locked by a 4-digit PIN and your phone's secure hardware EMERGENCY BUTTON Turn on an optional floating emergency button. Double-tap or press and hold it to remove your messages from the chats of members who are online, and permanently erase your account and all app data on your phone. The app then starts fresh. YOUR DIGITAL ID CARD Create your account in about a minute and get a personal ID card with your photo, stored only on your device. WORKS ANYWHERE Chat with people in any country over the internet, or use Local network mode to chat on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot even without internet. GOOD TO KNOW • Because there is no server, people need to be online to receive messages, and a file can be downloaded while the sender is online. • Bito Chat is also available for Windows. Bito Chat: private group chat, directly between people.
