BelleStudy™

BelleStudy™ is the photo-capture app for clinical research sites running studies on the BelleStudy™ platform. Site staff use it to capture standardised photo sets at each participant visit, check them, and submit them to the study team for review, on a phone or tablet, at the chair, without a separate camera or paper forms. The app is for authorised research staff only. Accounts are created by your study team in the BelleStudy™ web portal; there is no public sign-up. GUIDED, STANDARDISED CAPTURE • Four required views per visit (Left Side, Right Side, Top and Back), each with an on-screen outline so every photo is framed the same way, visit after visit and site after site. • Clear progress: each view turns green once captured, and any view can be retaken before you submit. • An automatic quality check flags photos that may need a retake. You decide whether to retake a photo or keep it, and that decision is recorded for the reviewing team. BUILT AROUND THE VISIT SCHEDULE • Choose the protocol time point (for example Screening, Baseline or Week 12) before you start. The first time point without a visit is pre-selected. • Each participant's visit history is shown as a gallery with a clear status: submitted, pending upload, or not yet submitted. • Participants are identified by study subject ID only. No names are shown in the app. AUTOMATIC FACE MASKING • Faces in Left Side and Right Side photos are detected on the device and blurred automatically. • The masked copy is what reviewers see. An unmasked original is kept only where the study organisation is permitted to view originals, and only authorised users can open it. WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL • Capture never waits for the network. Photos and visit details are saved on the device as each view is taken. • Visits upload when a connection is available, retry automatically when you come back to the app, and can be resubmitted with a tap. REVIEW BEFORE YOU SUBMIT • See all four views side by side, zoom in on any photo, retake what is not right, and add a note for the reviewing team. • Once submitted, a visit is locked, so the photo set cannot be changed afterwards. SECURE BY DESIGN • Staff only see the subjects at the sites they are assigned to. • Optional app lock with a 6-digit PIN or biometrics (fingerprint or face unlock). • All data is encrypted in transit, and photos are delivered through short-lived signed links. • Light and dark themes. Dates and times follow your site's regional format and time zone. REQUIREMENTS • Android 7.0 or later on a phone or tablet with a rear camera. • A BelleStudy™ staff account issued by your study team.
