Store listing

Full description
Beacon is a Wi-Fi scanner that tells you what your phone can actually measure — and labels the rest as unknown. Scan the access points around you. See signal strength in dBm, estimated distance from that signal, radio generation (Wi-Fi 4 / 5 / 6 / 6E / 7), vendor, and whether the network is open, WEP, WPS, WPA2, or WPA3. Same-name radios (Harbor, Harbor-5G, Harbor-6E) group together. A join score (0–100) ranks what is worth connecting to from signal, band, width, security, and 2.4 GHz overlap. When you are joined: • Android’s real radio link speed (not an invented “internet speed”) • Optional download test vs that radio link — so you can see if the ISP is the bottleneck • Gateway IP, ping, DNS, captive-portal and internet probe • This phone’s session download/upload, plus a bitrate guess (video-like, audio-like, or browsing). That mix is this device only — not other people on the AP • Names of devices on your LAN that advertise themselves (printers, TVs, speakers). That is not the router’s full client list Beacon will not pretend it can: • Count every user on a network you are not joined to • Read how many MB a neighbor streamed • See passwords or decrypt traffic • Draw a GPS floorplan of your house Android requires Location (or Nearby Wi-Fi devices) to return Wi-Fi names. Beacon uses that permission only to scan access points. Scans and history stay on the device. There is no account. Requires Android 7.0 or later and a device with Wi-Fi.
