PrintWala: Photo & Scan

Built for the counter, not the phone. PrintWala does the six jobs a cyber cafe, CSC centre or Xerox shop is asked for all day, and does them at the size the form actually demands. Passport size photo — 8 copies on one 4x6 sheet, ready to cut. The camera shows an outline to stand the customer inside, so the head lands between the crown and chin lines the standard requires. First try, not third. Photo resizer — the exact pixels and the exact kilobytes an online form asks for. Including the minimum size, which most tools forget: a form wanting 20-50 KB rejects the 12 KB file every other resizer hands back. Signature scanner — photograph a signature on plain paper and get a clean file. The paper's shade and the shadow across it are removed. Scan ID card — Aadhaar, PAN or licence, both sides on one page at 85.6 x 54 mm, so the copy measures like the original. Document scanner — any number of pages into one PDF, edges found and straightened. Compress file — get a PDF or a photo under whatever cap a portal has decided on. Done on the phone, so a customer's marksheet never goes to a stranger's website. Printer calibration. Printers quietly shrink what you send them, which is how a 35 mm photo comes out at 34 mm and gets rejected. Print the test page once, measure the line with the ruler by your guillotine, type in what it really measured. Every print after that is corrected. Print from the phone. Any printer the phone can see. The sheet goes out at true size, not scaled to fit. Your files, named. Every sheet, scan and signature is saved with the name you gave it — the customer's name works well — and you can find, send, rename or delete it from inside the app. Free.
