Full description
Spin the globe. Zoom in. Name what you see. AtlasBurst is a geography quiz played on a hand-drawn world map with no place names on it. The globe turns, the camera drops somewhere on Earth, one place lights up — and you pick its name from four options. 3,771 places. No labels. No shortcuts. PLAYS COMPLETELY OFFLINE The whole world ships inside the app. No sign-in, no download on first run, no connection needed, ever. Play it on a plane, underground, or anywhere with no signal. TWO WAYS TO BE ASKED • Name It — a place is highlighted, you pick its name • Find It — you are given a name, four pins drop, you tap the right one Every category plays both ways, which makes the same map ask two different questions. TEN CATEGORIES • Countries — 193, from the obvious to the genuinely tricky • States and provinces — 818 across 34 countries, Texas to Hokkaido • Capitals — 194 capital cities • State capitals — 788 of them, pinned to the state they govern • World Heritage — 912 UNESCO-listed sites • Cities — 119 of the world's largest • Seas, gulfs and straits — 176 • Rivers — 169 • Lakes — 141 • Landforms — 261 mountain ranges, deserts, islands and peninsulas Or pick Mixed and get all of them. ONE COUNTRY, EVERYTHING IN IT Choose a country and every question is about it — its states, their capitals, its cities, rivers, lakes, landforms and heritage sites. More than 20 countries have enough to carry a full game. The United States alone has over 200 places. PLAY IT YOUR WAY • Race to any target from 10 to 100 points, or play Endless with no failure state at all • Set the clock from 15 to 45 seconds — or turn it off completely and take as long as you like • One player, or two sharing the device with a hand-off screen so nobody peeks IT TEACHES, NOT JUST TESTS Get one wrong and the map shows you both — the right answer in green, your answer in red, named side by side. Seeing that Paraguay is not where you thought teaches more than being told you were wrong. Every run ends with What You Missed: each mistake, what the answer was, and one fact about it. No clock, nothing at stake. THIRTEEN LANGUAGES English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Hindi, Indonesian, Russian, Korean, Vietnamese, Turkish and Polish — including translated place names, so playing India in Hindi reads natively. FREE, WITH ADS No subscription, no paywall, nothing to buy. Ads appear when a game starts, and in Endless once every few minutes — never during a question, and never between a question and its answer. WHAT WE DO NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No email. No personal data. Your scores and badges stay on your device and go when you uninstall. Map data from Natural Earth (public domain). Heritage and reference data from Wikidata (CC0).
