ArteDex

ArteDex turns your museum visits into a collection you keep. In front of a work you like, photograph it, then photograph its label (the small explanatory panel beside it). ArteDex reads the text and files the title, artist, date, medium, dimensions and gallery text into a record of its own. You check it, correct anything that needs it, and it is saved. EVERYTHING HAPPENS ON YOUR PHONE The label is read by your own device. No photo is ever sent to a server for recognition. ArteDex works entirely offline, in a gallery with no signal, in a museum basement, abroad. YOUR COLLECTION, ARRANGED YOUR WAY • By artist, by museum, or by visit • Sort by date added, title, artist or century • Filter by century, medium or favourites • Instant search across every field • Favourites and a personal note on any work A MAP OF YOUR VISITS Every work sits where you saw it. BACKUP TO YOUR OWN DRIVE If you want it, connect your Google account: ArteDex saves records and photos to an "ArteDex" folder in YOUR Google Drive, and finds them again on your other devices. Synchronisation runs both ways. Nothing passes through a server of ours, we do not have one. NO ACCOUNT, NO ADVERTS, NO TRACKING Nothing to sign up for. No advertising. No trackers. The Google connection is optional and serves only your own backup. ENGLISH, FRENCH AND SPANISH ArteDex follows your phone's language, and reads labels in these three languages and many others. --- ArteDex is built for anyone who leaves a museum with ten unreadable photographs of labels and the feeling of having forgotten everything. Here, every work you saw becomes a record, and every visit a page of your own history.
