Phones used to be bad at taking photos. That was the whole charm. backthen brings it back — not with a color filter laid on top, but by rebuilding what actually happened inside those old cameras. Pick a device and the entire imaging chain changes: the plastic lens, the tiny sensor, the clumsy noise reduction, the JPEG that gave up too early. An iPhone 2G comes out soft, hazy and washed. An iPhone 7 comes out sharp and punchy. They are not the same photo with a different tint.
