Full description
Kodokur reads every barcode and QR code, tells you what it is and what you can do with it, and never goes online to do it. No ads, no trackers, no account. The camera is its only permission; the app has no internet permission at all. ONE APP FOR EVERY CODE • Groceries and products: EAN and UPC barcodes. Look a product up in Open Food Facts or search the web in one tap. • Medicine codes: the square code on a medicine box shows its expiry date, batch and serial number in plain words, and Kodokur warns you if the date has passed. • Books and magazines: ISBNs properly hyphenated, with the ISBN-10 and the country or language group; the price from the small add-on barcode. Magazine barcodes give the ISSN and issue number. • Wi-Fi: join a network from its QR code in one tap. The password stays hidden until you choose to see it. • Contacts: business card QR codes (vCard, MECARD) go straight to your contacts. E-mail, phone, SMS and map codes open the right app. • Anything else is shown as text you can copy, share or search. KNOW WHERE A LINK GOES QR codes on posters, parking meters and menus are an easy way to send people to fake sites. Before you open a link, Kodokur shows the site it really leads to and warns you about: • look-alike addresses written with letters from other alphabets, • a fake name hidden in front of an "@", • bare IP addresses, • unencrypted http pages. Links never open by themselves, and risky ones ask first. MADE FOR REAL-WORLD CODES • Pinch, double-tap or use the zoom button for tiny barcodes. • Held sideways, upside down or printed in reverse, codes still read. • Read a code from a photo, even without giving camera access. • Torch, tap to focus. • Formats: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, GS1 DataBar, QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec. STOCK-TAKING AND CATALOGUING Batch mode adds code after code to the history without stopping and never counts the same item twice. Share the list as a CSV file for a spreadsheet: a shop shelf, a pharmacy cabinet or a home library. STAYS ON YOUR PHONE Camera frames are examined on the phone and never saved or sent anywhere. Your history stays on your phone and, because it can contain Wi-Fi passwords, is left out of backups. Buttons such as product or book search hand the code to your browser; Kodokur itself never connects to anything. 14 languages: English, Türkçe, Deutsch, Français, Nederlands, Español, Português, Italiano, Dansk, Svenska, Norsk, Suomi, Русский, العربية. Open source (GNU GPL v3): github.com/aripdcom/kodokur
