An observer's-view diary — a record written one step back from yourself. Most journals fill up with what "I" did today. Diary Arca moves the chair one step back. You write about today from the seat of someone watching you. ■ Personas — the many of you You at work, you at home, you in front of an old friend. People live with a different face in each seat. Set those faces up as personas and note who you spent today as. ■ Situations — what you chose, what came at you Speaking first was something you chose. The conversation you could not avoid came at you. Keep the two apart, and what you tend to choose starts to show. ■ Routines — the things that come around Some things have a cycle of their own: every three days, once a week. A cycle bar sits on the calendar and fills from the left as you keep it. Days you skipped stay empty — the shape is visible without any scolding. ■ Emotions — eleven marbles Vitality, calm, tension, will, self-criticism, warmth, loneliness, comparison… Pour today's feelings into the marbles. The date on the calendar takes on that colour, faintly. ■ Stories — one thing across many days Some things do not fit into a single day. Tie the first day to the last, stand it up as a story, and continue it in chapters. ■ Calendar — a month on one page Memos, notes, emotions, stories, situations and routines gather in each cell. Tap a date and that day opens into six panes. ■ Wisdom — what remains after Write down the sentence you pulled out of what you went through, so you can take it out again when you pass the same place.
