Full description
Do you know how far Mars is from Earth right now? And when the next solar eclipse comes, where on Earth will the Moon's shadow fall? Space on Live is a 3D app that puts the solar system, exactly as it is at this moment, in the palm of your hand. The instant you open it, you descend from deep space into the solar system, and the planets spread out before you where they are at the current time. 1. The universe of "now", moving along with its numbers Tap a planet and watch its distance from Earth, the time its light takes to reach you, and its distance from the Sun change every second. This is not a photo in a reference book; it is the solar system that is actually out there right now. (Shows the orbital positions of the Sun, the 8 planets and the Moon, axial tilt and rotation, and how sunlight falls on each body.) 2. Travel through time wherever you like Slide a finger along the date bar and time speeds up. Past planetary alignments, the sky many years from today: go to any moment you choose. Play backwards, fast-forward or pause, and return to "now" whenever you want. 3. See how eclipses work with your own eyes Jump straight to the next solar or lunar eclipse. Earth's shadow and the Moon's shadow are drawn in 3D, so you can watch from space as the Moon slips into shadow, or as the Moon's shadow races across the Earth. You understand why eclipses happen before you have read a single line of explanation. 4. Never miss a highlight "Days until the next annular solar eclipse" and "days until full Moon" are shown right on screen. Tap to travel to that moment. You can also get a notification before solar and lunar eclipses. 5. Where the ISS and satellites are flying right now The altitude, speed and ground point of the International Space Station update every second. The many satellites circling Earth appear as points of light, based on publicly available orbit data. Colors tell you the type of orbit (low Earth orbit, medium Earth orbit, geostationary orbit, elliptical orbit), and you can search by name for Hubble, Starlink, GPS and others, then follow the satellite you picked. 6. Float the solar system in your room with AR Point your camera and the solar system appears in the air in front of you. Walk closer, move around it, look at the planets from the side. It is a joy to share with children, pointing and saying "Earth is here, Jupiter is over there". (Available on AR-capable devices.) 7. Feel the true size of space One button switches distances and sizes to true scale. Planets shrink to dots, and you sense how empty space really is. You can return to the easy-to-see scale at any time. ■ Recommended for - Anyone who has looked up at the night sky and wondered where the planets are right now - Anyone who wants to show children clearly how solar and lunar eclipses work - Anyone curious about where the ISS and satellites are flying at this moment - Anyone who wants to grasp the size of space by feel rather than by numbers - Anyone who simply wants to gaze at a beautiful universe and unwind ■ Easy to use - The solar system view works without a connection, so you can use it out of signal range or under the stars (a connection is used only to update satellite orbit data) - No account, no sign-in. Open it and start exploring - Available in English, Japanese, Spanish, German, French and more ■ About what you see Planet and Moon positions come from astronomical calculations. ISS and satellite positions are estimates derived from publicly available orbit data (CelesTrak) and are shown for a few days before and after the data's observation time. The universe is moving at this very moment. With Space on Live, you can feel that "now" in the palm of your hand.
