Full description
Every officer and rating has to record their hours of work and rest. Off Watch keeps your copy. The record you enter into the ship's system belongs to the company, and you lose access to it the day you sign off. This one is yours. It stays on your phone, through this contract and the next, and it is still there when you need it for a promotion board, a dispute, or a tax claim years later. CHECKED AS YOU ENTER IT Rest-hours rules are rolling, and that is what makes them easy to get wrong by hand. A day can pass a midnight-to-midnight check on paper and still fail the rolling 24-hour window that starts at 14:00 — and rolling is what Port State Control checks. Off Watch measures every window, at every half-hour boundary, and tells you in plain words: "9h 30m rest in the 24 hours from 14:00 on 3 March. The minimum is 10." No rule codes, no red cells to decode. The day it applies to, the window it covers, and by how much. FILLING IN A MONTH IN A FEW TAPS • Paint work straight onto the day — press and drag down the timeline • Apply a watch pattern across a whole date range at once: 6-on/6-off, 4-on/8-off, 12-hour days • Tap "on watch" from the home screen widget or your watch on the way to the bridge, and again coming down, and the day fills itself in • Mark rest that was broken by a drill or a call-out THE FORM, WHEN YOU NEED IT Export any month as a PDF in the IMO/ILO layout — the same shape as the paper form, printable, photocopiable, with your ship, rank, IMO number and flag in the header. Or as a CSV if you want it in a spreadsheet. THE LIMITS ARE YOURS TO SET Off Watch ships the published STCW and MLC figures. If your flag state, your administration or your agreement applies different ones, change the numbers and everything re-checks itself against your version. The originals stay untouched beside your copy, and the app tells you plainly whenever an edit has made a limit more permissive than the published one. ON YOUR WRIST AND ON YOUR HOME SCREEN The widget shows where you stand right now — rest in the last 24 hours, how much room is left, and the on/off-watch toggle. The Wear OS app and tile do the same on your wrist, and a tap made out of Bluetooth range is recorded with the time you made it, not the time your phone heard about it. QUIET WHEN YOU ARE ASLEEP Nothing about limits is ever sent while your record says you are resting. An app about hours of rest that wakes you off watch has defeated its own purpose. WHAT IT IS NOT This is not the ship's official record and does not replace it. It is not legal advice, and nothing in it is a finding by any administration. It only knows what you enter — a day with no entry is a day it knows nothing about, and it says so rather than counting it as rest. YOUR RECORD STAYS YOURS No account. No server of ours. Nothing about your hours is sent anywhere. Everything is on your phone, it travels with Android's own backup to your own Google account, and you can save a copy of the whole record as a file whenever you like. Anonymous usage and crash reports do leave the phone, so a screen that breaks at sea gets fixed. They carry which screens were opened and what went wrong. They never carry what you wrote. FREE, AND PLUS Free forever, with ads: entering and correcting any day, compliance checking, the daily reminder, missing-day nudges, and an alert when something you have entered puts a day over a limit. Off Watch Plus removes the ads and adds months beyond the current one, PDF and CSV export, the widget, the Wear OS app, and warnings before a limit goes rather than after. A month you have just finished stays free to read and export until the 3rd of the next month. Plus is a subscription or a one-off lifetime unlock — whichever you prefer.

What's new

First release. Your own record of hours of work and rest, kept on your phone. Enter a day by painting work onto the timeline, or apply a watch pattern across a whole range at once. Every rolling window is checked as you type, and told to you as a sentence rather than a red cell. Export any month as the IMO/ILO PDF, or as CSV. Widget and Wear OS app for going on and off watch. Six languages besides English.
