Effetto VIOLA: Calm & Sleep

Randomised double-blind clinical study at Ospedali Galliera, Genoa. Listed in the Italian Ministry of Enterprise innovative companies register. On board Trenitalia's Frecciarossa trains. Put your headphones on, press play, and in fifteen minutes your body shifts gear. Effetto VIOLA is Italy's n.1 sound technology: engineered frequencies embedded inside real music — pop, classical, ambient — to favour the mental states of relaxation, sleep, good mood and concentration. This is not a meditation app. There is no technique to learn, no sitting still in silence, no being good at it. You put the headphones on and listen: the sound does the work. WHEN YOUR MIND WON'T SWITCH OFF You lie down and it all starts again: the day, the list, that sentence you got wrong. The NOCTURNE programme accompanies you into sleep without asking anything of you — and it works for 3am wake-ups too. WHEN THE DAY HAS WRUNG YOU OUT Fifteen minutes of RESET to let the accumulated tension and physiological anxiety come down. Many people use it on getting home, before dinner, as a border between work and evening. WHEN NOTHING LIFTS YOU There are stretches when everything sits flat and the things you used to enjoy say nothing to you. UNITY works on your mood fifteen minutes at a time, without asking you to be positive on command. WHY IT DIFFERS FROM ORDINARY BINAURAL BEATS Picture a shoe shop that only stocks size 43: it fits a few people. Traditional binaural beats work like that — one fixed frequency, the same for everyone. Effetto VIOLA works the other way round. The frequencies are distributed through each piece differently, track by track, to follow the rhythm your brain would produce by itself in that state. That is why not every track works the same way for everyone — and that is exactly the point. THE FIVE PROGRAMMES • RESET — release the tension of the day • NOCTURNE — accompany falling asleep and night waking • UNITY — support your mood • FOCUS — long concentration, for study and work • CONTROL — manage arousal in moments of pressure WHERE IT COMES FROM Effetto VIOLA was born in Bologna. The underlying technology was the subject of a randomised double-blind clinical study conducted at Ospedali Galliera in Genoa and published in the Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2020; the full collection of studies is at effettoviola.eu/scienza.
