WTFAustin: Live Incident Map

WTFAustin puts what Austin's public feeds report on one live map: wrecks, road hazards, fires, rescues, hazmat calls and weather warnings, minutes after the city posts them. ONE MAP FOR THE WHOLE CITY Traffic incidents from Austin and Travis County, fire department calls and National Weather Service warnings, marked Critical, Elevated or Routine. Tap a marker to see what was reported, where, when the city last updated it and whether crews are still on scene. Austin publishes no live police or medical calls, so neither does the map. THE NEAREST CITY CAMERA If a city traffic camera stands within a few hundred meters, the incident card shows its latest frame, refreshed every few minutes. The camera watches the intersection, not the incident, and the card says so. THE DAY IN ONE FEED The last 24 hours in Austin, one incident to a screen, camera pictures first. Open any of them on the map. NEIGHBOR REPORTS, READ BY A PERSON FIRST Drop a pin and describe what you see in a line. A moderator reads every report before anyone else sees it. Any post can be reported and its author blocked. In an emergency, call 911. THE PUBLIC REGISTRY, FROM TEXAS DPS An optional layer, off until you turn it on, shows addresses from the Texas DPS Public Sex Offender Registry exactly as DPS publishes them, refreshed twice a week, with a link to each DPS record. Nobody can comment on or rate a person. Using this information to harass, threaten or injure anyone is against Texas law. FREE, AND WHAT PREMIUM ADDS Free: the live map, camera pictures, the Feed, neighbor reports, the registry layer, and a morning note on days with serious incidents in Austin. No account to create. Premium adds a home zone: a pin with alerts for incidents near it. Choose the radius, from 250 m to 5 km, and the level: Serious and up, or Critical only. Quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM let only critical events through. An optional morning note says when a new registry address appears inside your zone, never with names. Premium is $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year in the US; Google Play shows your local price. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your Google Play subscriptions. PRIVACY No ads, no tracking. Your location is used only while the app is open, to center the map on you or place your home pin, never in the background. Usage statistics and crash reports are collected only if you switch them on. Delete your account in Settings and your home pin, reports and alert settings are erased from our servers.
