StepCore — your no-pressure step buddy StepCore turns walking into something you actually look forward to. No calorie panic, no sign-ups, no ads. Just move, and your steps unlock food you've earned for the day. It quietly tracks your steps in the background, shows your progress, and even gives you meal ideas from different cuisines based on what you've achieved. Hit your goal, treat yourself. What's inside • Dashboard — your daily step count and how close you are to your personal goal, at a glance. • Food — discover meals from cuisines around the world and see how many steps each one is worth. • Explore — curated walking routes and step-friendly inspiration so every walk feels like an adventure. • Insights — daily, weekly, monthly, and year-on-year breakdowns of how far you've come. • Coach — a playful, motivational tab that turns your step stats into fun summaries and gentle encouragement. Coach is purely motivational and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. • Leaderboard (optional) — opt in to see how your steps stack up against other StepCore users in a friendly global ranking. How StepCore uses Health Connect on Android On Android, StepCore reads your daily Steps from Health Connect to power the in-app features above. We only request the single permission needed for the app to work: Steps (read). No heart rate, no sleep, no nutrition, no body sensors, no location data is requested or read. Before requesting Health Connect access, StepCore shows an in-app disclosure that explains what data is read and how it's used. You can grant, deny, or revoke access at any time through Health Connect's own settings. We use the Steps data exclusively to: • Show your current and historical step counts on the Dashboard, History, and Insights screens. • Generate personalised motivational summaries in the Coach tab. • Power the opt-in Leaderboard ranking (only if you choose to participate). Privacy first • Your step data stays on your device by default. • Your data is never sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers. • Your data is never used for medical diagnosis, treatment, insurance, credit, or employment decisions. • Your step totals are only sent to StepCore's servers if you explicitly opt in to the Leaderboard. • StepCore collects anonymous, rounded usage statistics to help improve the app. These events are tied to an anonymous device ID, never to your name. You can opt in to share your name from the Info tab if you'd like. • You can request deletion of your data at any time. Permissions StepCore requests • Health Connect: Steps (read) — to display your step count and history inside the app. • Activity Recognition — required by Android so the app can read step data from the device. That's it. StepCore does not request body sensors, location, microphone, camera, contacts, or any other sensitive permission. Approved use case StepCore operates within Google Play's "Fitness, wellness and coaching" approved use case for Health Connect: helping users track and analyse their physical activity and providing motivational coaching based on that activity. No sign-ups. No ads. No guilt. Just walk… and enjoy what you've earned.
