Full description
Write and run real Python on your phone, and play the games you make, entirely offline. PyPad is a complete Python programming environment. It bundles a real CPython 3.14 interpreter with the standard library and a game engine that draws fullscreen at a steady 60 frames per second. Write a script, tap Run, and watch it print to the console or take over the screen as a game. Everything happens on your device. PyPad does not hold the Internet permission, so it cannot make a network connection even in principle. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no data collection: not as a policy promise, but as how the app is built. The one permission it ever asks for is notifications, used only to show that a script is still running, and everything works if you decline. REAL PYTHON, NOT A TOY SUBSET Full CPython 3.14 lives inside the app. If your code runs on desktop Python, the language behaves the same way here: the real interpreter, the real standard library, real error messages. GAMES AT FULL SPEED Graphics and sound are powered by pygame-ce (pygame Community Edition), the same library that runs on desktops, ported to Android. Your games draw to a fullscreen surface at 60 frames per second and respond to touch. AN EDITOR BUILT FOR PHONES Syntax highlighting, semantic autocomplete, find and replace, a row of programming keys above the keyboard, and errors highlighted at the exact line and column. Your code runs in a separate process, so an infinite loop or a crash never takes down the editor, and Stop always works. LEARN BY DOING 35 built-in lessons take you from your first line of Python to orbital mechanics, one short step at a time, each checked as you go. Five samples, from "Hello, world" to a multi-file game with sprites, sound and a score, open as your own editable copies: change anything and run it. REAL PROJECTS, NOT SINGLE FILES Nested folders, images and sounds, import and export through Android's own file picker, and checkpoint-and-restore history for any file. Your work lives in the app's private storage and goes only where you send it. OPEN ABOUT WHAT'S INSIDE PyPad bundles a number of open-source components and credits every one of them on its attribution screen. Anatory's patches and build scripts are published at anatory.com/source/.
