Full description
Isotope is a periodic table you want to just enjoy. Every one of the 118 elements gets a card: the symbol, the name, a photograph of something the element actually is out in the world (a pencil for carbon, a banana for potassium, party balloons for helium) and the full numbers behind it. WHAT IS IN IT • All 118 elements, each with 22 properties: atomic weight, electron and shell configuration, electronegativity, covalent and van der Waals radii, melting and boiling points, density, thermal conductivity and expansion, crystal structure, Mohs and Brinell hardness, bulk and Young's modulus, speed of sound and electrical resistivity. • A photograph of every element, with a line explaining what you are looking at and what the element is doing in it. • A short description of each element: what it is, and one thing worth remembering. • Search by name, symbol or atomic number. • A quiz with three ways to play, for finding out whether any of it stuck. • Temperatures in Kelvin, Celsius or Fahrenheit. • Light and dark themes, and a layout built for phones and tablets alike. HONEST ABOUT ITS DATA Where a value is not known (and for the heaviest synthetic elements most are not) the app says "Unknown" rather than inventing a number. Every field's source is documented: atomic and thermodynamic data from IUPAC-aligned and NIST-derived compilations, and the bulk material properties from the standard reference tables, which are less complete and are labelled as such. NO NONSENSE No account. No ads. No tracking. No network connection needed for anything; every photograph and every number ships inside the app. Nothing about you leaves your device, because nothing about you is collected. Free. No purchases, ever.
