Full description
Jinagam is a digital sanctum for the Jain śāstras — the timeless teachings of the Tīrthaṅkaras, preserved across centuries in Sanskrit and Prakrit, and now made accessible to every seeker in their own language. Open Jinagam to a single, careful reading experience for the Digambara and Shvetambara traditions alike. Every verse is presented in its original script alongside word-by-word breakdown, padaccheda, parallel translations, and section-by-section audio narration. Tap any Sanskrit term to see its root, meaning, and grammatical role in English, Hindi, or Kannada. Sit with a passage in quiet, bookmark it, write a reflection — the way you would with a printed śāstra in your home shrine. WHAT'S HERE TODAY • Tattvārtha Sūtra of Ācārya Umāsvāmī — the universal compendium of Jain philosophy, recognised across the Digambara and Shvetambara traditions. 357 sūtras, translated and analysed in English, Hindi, and Kannada, with word-by-word breakdown of every Sanskrit term and parallel commentary from the classical tradition. • Bhaktāmara Stotra of Ācārya Mānatuṅga — the cherished devotional hymn to Bhagavān Ṛṣabhadeva. 48 verses with full meaning, atom-by-atom breakdown of compounds and sandhi, and traditional chant recordings. THE FOUR ANUYOGAS The Jain canon is organised into four anuyogas — four ways of approaching the teaching, suited to different students, subjects, and stages of study. Jinagam is built to cover all four: • Prathamānuyoga — universal history, the lives of the Tīrthaṅkaras and the sixty-three great men. • Karaṇānuyoga — cosmology, the mathematics of bondage and liberation: Tiloyapaṇṇattī, Gommaṭasāra, Ṣaṭkhaṇḍāgama. • Caraṇānuyoga — right conduct, the discipline of monks and householders side by side. • Dravyānuyoga — metaphysics, anekāntavāda, syādvāda — the inquiry into reality itself: Samayasāra, Pravacanasāra, Sarvārthasiddhi. THE ROAD AHEAD The two books on the app today are a beginning. Coming next: • Dravya-saṃgraha of Ācārya Nemicandra • Ratnakaraṇḍaka Śrāvakācāra of Ācārya Samantabhadra • Iṣṭopadeśa of Ācārya Pūjyapāda • Āpta-Mīmāṃsā of Ācārya Samantabhadra • The great works of Ācārya Kundakunda — Samayasāra, Pravacanasāra, Pañcāstikāya, the Aṣṭa-Pāhuḍa • In time, the Karma-kāṇḍa, the cosmologies, the Purāṇas, and the lives of the Tīrthaṅkaras DESIGNED FOR SERIOUS STUDY • Original Sanskrit and Prakrit with padaccheda and atom-level word breakdown • Translations and commentary in English, Hindi, and Kannada side by side • Tap any term to see its root, meaning, and grammar in your chosen language • Section-by-section audio with locked-screen controls and background playback • Bookmarks, notes, share — keep the reading personal • Cross-references, scholarly commentary, Vedic parallels for comparative study • Multi-script support for Devanagari and Kannada A COMMUNITY EFFORT Jinagam is built by translators, audio narrators, proof-readers, and scholars of Sanskrit and Prakrit whose careful work makes these texts more accessible. Use the in-app Feedback option to reach out — for content corrections, feature requests, or to contribute to a future release. The Jin-āgam is sacred teaching. Jinagam puts it always within reach.
