Documents are kept in the app's own private storage, where other apps on the phone cannot reach them. Nothing is collected, because there is nowhere to collect it to. Android's backup service is switched off for this app, so your scans are not copied to Google Drive and are not carried across by phone-to-phone transfer. Uninstalling the app removes every document it holds. Keep copies of anything you need. A NOTE ON PASSWORDS If you password-protect a document, that password is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered. That is the point of it. Write it down somewhere real.
