Al-Musammi: Quran Recitation

Al-Musammi (المُسمِّع) is a companion for revising your Quran memorisation. Open the surah or page you know, tap the microphone and recite from memory. Al-Musammi listens word by word and colours the page in front of you: • Green: a word you recited correctly • Red: a word you got wrong • Orange: a word you skipped • Gold: a word you corrected after a mistake • Dotted underline: not heard clearly, so it is not counted against you Features • Madinah-style Mushaf pages: 15 lines per page like the printed Mushaf, in the printed-Mushaf script or the lighter Hafs font. • Memorisation mode: verses are hidden and appear word by word as you recite. Need a hint? Tap a hidden word, or use the lightbulb to reveal only the next verse if you forget. • Mistakes log: every mistake is saved with the word, the verse and what was heard, so you can review it later and clear what you have fixed. If the app misunderstood you, tap the word and mark it “not a mistake”. • Exam mode: random questions from the juz you choose, with the number of questions and question length (verses or lines) you want, and a score at the end. • Session summary: accuracy, and counts of correct, wrong and skipped words, with a share button. • Adjustable strictness: lenient, balanced or exact, to suit your room and microphone. • Light vibration on a mistake, option to silence the microphone beeps, and screen kept on while you recite. • Light, dark and automatic themes. Interface in Arabic, English, Turkish and Persian; the Quran text is always Arabic. • Statistics: words heard, accuracy and day streak. Privacy • No account, no sign-in, no ads, no tracking. • The app itself has no internet permission, and your mistakes and settings stay on your device. • It does not store your voice. It uses your phone’s built-in speech-recognition service (usually Google’s), which may process audio on its servers depending on your phone settings. You can enable “Offline recognition” after downloading Arabic in Google’s speech settings (accuracy may drop). Good to know • Checking relies on your phone’s speech recognition, so it can occasionally be wrong, especially in noisy rooms or with weak microphones. Recite in a quiet place and pause briefly between verses. • Al-Musammi is a self-revision aid and does not replace learning from, and reciting to, a qualified teacher. • A speech-recognition service that supports Arabic (such as Google’s) must be installed on your phone.
