Full description
Your passwords in one encrypted file on your own device. No account, no cloud, and no internet permission at all - the app has no way to reach a network. There is a Windows version too - $5, one payment - and it opens the same vault file, byte for byte: offgridoffice.net/ogvault There is no account to create, no server to trust and no subscription. The file belongs to you. If you delete the app, your vault is still yours; if our website disappears tomorrow, your vault still opens. It works the same whether you have an internet connection or not, because it never needed one - which also means it runs perfectly on a device that has never been online. Air-gap capable, in the proper sense of the term. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No ads. No trackers. No analytics. No telemetry. No account, no sign-up, no email address required. No cloud sync, because there is no cloud. No internet permission at all - the app cannot phone home, because it has no way to reach the network. Look at the Data safety section on this page. It says no data collected and no data shared. That is not marketing copy - it is a declaration Google holds us to. HOW IT IS ENCRYPTED Your vault is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Your master password is put through PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 at 600,000 iterations, which is the current OWASP recommendation, and a fresh nonce is generated every single time the file is saved. The file's header - the salt, the nonce, the iteration count - is authenticated, so nobody can tamper with the stored iteration count to weaken your vault and hand it back to you. We cannot read your vault. Not because we promise not to, but because we do not have it and there is no key escrow, no recovery service and no back door. If you lose your master password, your data is gone. That is not a flaw. It is the only honest way to build this. THE SAME VAULT FILE OPENS ON WINDOWS It is not this app running on a PC, and you do not need it. OG Vault on your phone is complete on its own. But if you want your vault on your computer as well, copy the file across however you like - a cable, a USB stick, your own network. No sync service sits in the middle, because we do not operate one. The Windows program is one file - no installer, no registry entries, no background services, nothing left on the machine. Put it on a USB stick with your vault and it runs on any Windows PC without a trace. BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT ASSUME A CONNECTION OG Vault is part of Off-Grid Office, a suite built on the idea that your own computer should be enough. No signal, no wi-fi, no account, no subscription, nothing phoning home. If you care about privacy, live somewhere the signal does not reach, or simply want your things to keep working when the internet does not, that is who this is for. WHY THE ANDROID APP IS FREE Because "free" is where most of the harm in this business hides, it is worth saying exactly what it means here. No ads. No trackers. No analytics. Nothing about you is collected, so there is nothing about you to sell. There is no free tier that nags you toward a subscription, and no feature held back to make you pay. You are not the product, and there is no catch waiting to be found later - there cannot be, because the app has no way to reach the internet. It is free because a password manager you must pay for before you can trust it is a bad deal, and because we would rather you had it. WHO MAKES THIS ABC Preps LLC. We build software for people who would rather not hand their lives to companies that sell them. More of what we make is at offgridoffice.net
