PreventED is specialist safeguarding training for education staff, focused on child sexual abuse. It complements your school's wider safeguarding programme by helping you recognise possible concerns, respond calmly, record factually, and report through the correct routes. Developed for teachers and other school-based roles, PreventED is aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) expectations and supports your continuing professional development (CPD). WHAT YOU WILL LEARN • Understand safeguarding responsibilities in everyday school settings • Recognise possible signs of harm and trauma • Respond supportively when a concern is raised • Record and report information through your school's processes • Know when to involve your designated safeguarding lead (DSL) THREE FOCUSED MODULES 1. Understanding child sexual abuse (~15 minutes) 2. Recognising signs of abuse and trauma (~15 minutes) 3. Responding and reporting (~20 minutes) Complete all three modules in around 50 minutes. You can spread training across separate sessions and pick up where you left off. Download it from your account when you finish the programme. FOR INDIVIDUALS AND SCHOOLS • Register as an individual and start training straight away • Schools can register, invite staff, and track completion ACCESSIBILITY PreventED is designed for clear reading, straightforward navigation, and usable touch targets on mobile and tablet. WHO IS THIS FOR? PreventED is for adults working in education. You must be 18 or over to create an account. The app is not directed at children. REQUIREMENTS An internet connection is required to access training content and save your progress. PreventED is operated by the National Network to End Child Abuse (NNECA).
