Four Courts 100 lets you explore one of Ireland’s most important national landmarks, which has evolved and re-emerged for over 200 years. This app follows the history of the Four Courts from when it was first built to its reconstruction after the Battle of the Four Courts in 1922. Learn about the three tumultuous days of the battle and how they led to a defining moment in Irish History – the Civil War. Discover how the Courts Service have adapted to the digital age, by adopting new innovative ways to hold court hearings and cases remotely. Catch a glimpse of the stunning 3D recreation of the Public Records Office, destroyed in the battle of 1922. It will soon be unveiled as part of Ireland’s Virtual Record Treasury to be launched on 27 June 2022.
