Projde-li se dnes návštěvník po královském městě Slaný, narazí pouze na několik málo památek upozorňujících na kdysi monumentální opevnění města, které jsou reprezentovány především dosud stojící Velvarskou bránou. Masivní středověká fortifikace se ovšem skládala z důmyslného obranného systému zahrnujícího další chráněné vstupy do města (Lounská brána, Pražská brána, fortna) a zdvojené linie hradeb s příkopem a mnoha věžemi a baštami. Většina opevnění byla ovšem v průběhu 19. století zbořena a tato aplikace se tak díky novým technologickým možnostem rozhodla památky, které již nadobro zmizely z povrchu zemského, zpřístupnit pomocí virtuální reality. Byla vytvořena počítačová 3D rekonstrukce, která představuje, jak město Slaný vypadalo v roce 1602, kdy vznikla známá Willenbergova veduta. Aplikace funguje jako průvodce po středověké podobě města, kde bylo vybráno celkem 8 zastávek, kde můžete pohlédnout přímo do minulosti.
