Full description
Stillness is a breathing, relaxation and meditation app built to be honest rather than impressive. Open it, say how you're feeling, and it matches you with a breathing pattern and a soundscape suited to that state. Anxious, tired, restless, at peace, whatever it is. There's no library to browse and no decisions to make when you're not in the mood to make them. It also has a guided meditation session (intentionally voice-free), and a sound-only mode to just relax with audio input. Everything is generated on the device in real time. No audio files, no downloads, no network calls, no ads. It works the same on a plane, underground, or with your data off. Nothing about how you use it is collected, sent anywhere, or shown to anyone. There's no account to create. There's an adapted mode built for neurodivergent users specifically, not bolted on as an afterthought. Turn it on and the language switches to something literal instead of metaphorical, the sound scenes become fixed instead of randomized so a session sounds identical every time you return to it, and the mood options themselves change to cover states most calming apps don't have a name for, like sensory overload, shutdown, or being deep in a special interest. It also includes moods for good feelings that don't need managing, like happiness that comes with an urge to move, because regulation isn't the only thing worth supporting. The theory screen explains, honestly, what the evidence for breathing exercises actually says, including where that evidence is thin. A single session does little on its own. What seems to matter is coming back. There are no streaks, no reminders nagging you, no progress bars, nothing to unlock. You can stop at any point, you don't need a reason. If the app is useful to you and you'd like to leave a tip, there's a way to do that, but nothing in it depends on you doing so. This is not a treatment for anxiety, autism, or anything else, and it isn't emergency support. It's a quiet tool for the moments in between. For full disclosure, the app was developed by me (one guy) with the help of AI tools. The idea, spirit and intention are all 100% original and I would not have been to complete it otherwise. I hope it brings you joy to use it and improves many peoples' lives, if even a little bit.
