Kitab Al Lu’lu’ wal Marjan adalah kitab berisikan kumpulan hadits-hadits shahih tentang berbagai cabang ilmu syariat.Dan diantara isi lainya membahas tentang iman Pengertian iman secara bahasa menurut Syaikh Muhammad bin Shalih Al ‘Utsaimin adalah pengakuan yang melahirkan sikap menerima dan tunduk. Kata beliau makna ini cocok dengan makna iman dalam istilah syari’at. Dan beliau mengkritik orang yang memaknai iman secara bahasa hanya sekedar pembenaran hati (tashdiq) saja tanpa ada unsur menerima dan tunduk. Kata ’iman’ adalah fi’il lazim (kata kerja yang tidak butuh objek), sedangkan tashdiq adalah fi’il muta’addi (butuh objek) (Lihat Syarh Arba’in, hal. 34)
