Abacus Farming

Abacus Farming helps South African farmers manage crop plans, production budgets and grain marketing records in one place. Get an overview of your farm’s projected financial position and explore how changes in yield and price could affect your results. FARM DASHBOARD View projected portfolio profit, direct production costs and marketed tonnes. Identify incomplete budgets and open your saved crop plans. CROP PLANNING Organise farms and seasons. Record field names, hectares, expected yields and delivery silos. PRODUCTION BUDGETS Choose a combined cost per hectare or itemised expenses for seed, fertiliser, lime, pest control, fuel and other inputs. Calculate costs using quantities and unit prices or enter known amounts per hectare. YIELD AND PRICE SCENARIOS Compare pessimistic, expected and optimistic yield scenarios. Explore the price and yield sensitivity grid to understand potential changes in profitability. GRAIN CONTRACT RECORDS Record contract references, tonnes, locked prices and delivery silos. Track marketed progress alongside expected production. FARM PERFORMANCE SUMMARY Compare selected crops side by side in a spreadsheet-style matrix. Filter by farm, field and season to review costs, expected tonnes, marketed tonnes and projected profit. MARKET INFORMATION View available commodity quotes and source timestamps. Calculate farmer pocket prices where supported silo basis data is available. Saved plan prices remain unchanged until you explicitly replace them. RAINFALL RECORDS Record farm rainfall observations and review historical readings and seasonal totals. ENGLISH AND AFRIKAANS Use the app in English or Afrikaans. An account is required. Market information depends on provider availability and may be delayed. Internet access is required for market updates and cloud synchronisation. Financial results are estimates based on your inputs, saved prices and available reference data. They do not guarantee actual yields, selling prices or profit.
