LockedWeb is a porn blocker you cannot switch off. There is no disable, no pause, and logging out doesn't turn it off. Removing LockedWeb — or loosening any block — takes a 72-hour wait plus a one-time unlock code, every time, for everyone. That delay is the product: the moment of weakness passes long before the lock does. WHY LOCKEDWEB USES VPN PERMISSION (ANDROID VpnService) LockedWeb is a content filter for adults and families, and it uses Android's VpnService to apply that filter to the whole phone. The VPN runs on this device and carries DNS lookups only: every website name the phone looks up travels through the tunnel to LockedWeb's own filtering service, which answers blocked or allowed. That connection is encrypted end to end with DNS-over-HTTPS. Content filtering is what LockedWeb does, and VpnService is the only way to do it in every browser and every app instead of one app at a time. Before the filter turns on, the app explains what the VPN does and asks you to allow it; Android then asks for its own VPN permission, and you can decline.
