Au Pair Training

A BETTER-PREPARED AU PAIR STARTS HERE. Au Pair Training is a practical online training programme designed to help host families prepare their au pair for everyday family life. Welcoming an au pair into your home is exciting, but it also means trusting a young person with your children, your routines and your household. Our au pair training gives young people practical guidance in childcare, child safety, communication, cultural adjustment and host family expectations before and during their placement. HELP YOUR AU PAIR START STRONG The first weeks of an au pair placement can shape the entire experience. Au Pair Training helps au pairs understand their responsibilities and prepares them for situations they are likely to encounter while living with a host family. Course topics include: • Childcare and child safety
 • Understanding children's needs and behaviour
 • Communication with host parents
 • Family routines and household expectations
 • Cultural differences and cultural adjustment
 • Boundaries and responsibilities
 • Emotional support for children
 • Stress management and difficult situations
 • Conflict and communication
 • The first days with a host family
 • Everyday life as an au pair PRACTICAL AU PAIR TRAINING The training focuses on realistic situations rather than theory alone. Au pairs learn how expectations can differ between families and cultures, how to communicate clearly with host parents, how to support children and how to approach their role responsibly. The aim is to help au pairs arrive more confident, more informed and better prepared for family life. COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING IN THE APP The Au Pair Training app is the learning environment for enrolled au pairs. Au pairs use the app to: • Watch training videos
 • Complete chapter quizzes
 • Work through lessons step by step
 • Follow their course progress
 • Access chapter-specific learning materials
 • Complete the final assessment Training can be completed conveniently from a phone, allowing au pairs to learn at their own pace before travelling or during the beginning of their placement. FOR HOST FAMILIES Host families can follow their au pair's training progress through the Au Pair Training website. This helps families see how far their au pair has progressed before arrival. Chapter-specific handouts can also be used as practical reference materials during everyday host family life. QUIZZES AND FINAL ASSESSMENT Each chapter includes quizzes designed to reinforce the information covered in the training. A final assessment provides an additional opportunity for the au pair to demonstrate their understanding of the course content. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION After successfully completing the course requirements, the au pair receives a certificate of completion recognising their achievement. FOR AU PAIRS If your host family or agency has enrolled you in Au Pair Training, download the app to access your training.
