AfterStart – Nutrition Live

Say what you ate, snap your plate or scan a product: AfterStart counts calories and 23 nutrients, and plans your week of meals. You say “two eggs, a slice of wholemeal bread and a coffee”. The app finds each food in the Swiss food composition database and does the maths. No need to weigh everything: without a quantity, it counts a usual portion, which you can correct. WHAT THE APP DOES • Log a meal by voice, in writing, with a photo (plate, recipe or label) or by scanning a barcode, with a review and an alternative. • A daily calorie budget based on your metabolism, your activity and the pace you choose. • 23 nutrients tracked: protein, carbs, fat, fibre, omega-3, calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamins… • Today’s water, with extra on exercise days. • “Tell me”, the assistant: write or talk to it. It logs your meals, workouts and weigh-ins, and answers your questions with today’s numbers. “I’m hungry, what can I eat?” • Your week of meals, within your budget, and the shopping list that goes with it, in the aisle order of your shop, with an estimated price. • A recipe library, your favourites and a lighter version of any dish. • Your stats over 30, 90 or 365 days: weight, trend, measurements, movement, and which nutrients are missing. • Your Fitbit watch, if you like: steps, active minutes, sleep and resting heart rate come into the app, and your budget takes them into account. • Intermittent fasting, if you like, and discreet reminders: meals, water, weigh-in, Sunday review. • Share a meal with the people close to you who use AfterStart.
