Full description
Siloam is the complete Holy Bible in English, the World English Bible (WEB), offline and with no ads, illustrated with 235 plates—each at the exact verse of the scene it shows. It is also a study Bible, chapter by chapter, with the original Hebrew and Greek word by word. READING (FREE PLAN) • The whole Bible on your phone, offline. The text is downloaded once, the first time you open the app; after that, reading needs no internet. • Listen to the Bible read aloud in your phone’s own voice. It is synthetic narration, not a recorded reader; with a voice installed on the phone, it works offline too. • Search by reference (Psalm 23:1) or by word, across the whole Bible. • Highlight verses in five colors, write notes and gather them into collections. • Bible reading plans, from “Start here” to “The Bible in a year,” with a daily reminder. • The verse of the day—the Word of the day—with a note on where it was said, and a widget for your home screen. • Compare the WEB side by side with Bible editions in other languages. • Every chapter opens with artwork drawn by the app itself. ILLUSTRATED: THE SCENES • 235 plates—pictures of the scenes, each set at its verse—and 116 book and chapter covers, with galleries of the plates and of the people of the Bible. • Every plate comes with a note on what it is based on: the verse, the archaeology, the ancient texts. Where the research does not support a detail, the note says so too. COMPLETE: THE STUDY BIBLE • For every chapter: the historical context, discussion questions, interesting facts and linked passages. • The original Hebrew and Greek, word by word, like an interlinear Bible: how each word reads, what it means, and translation notes. • A study guide for your small group that you put together and export as a PDF. RESEARCHER: THE ORIGINAL IN DEPTH • A Bible concordance of the original, with Strong’s numbers: every occurrence of each Hebrew and Greek word, book by book. • Hebrew and Greek lexicons with root, morphology and the Strong’s entry for each word. IMAGES MADE WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE The plates and covers are images generated by artificial intelligence from documented research, and the app labels them as such. None of them is a photograph. The Bible text does not pass through artificial intelligence: it is the published edition, word for word. If you prefer to read without pictures, turn off “Images in the app” in Settings. THE TRANSLATION AND THE BOOKS The World English Bible is a modern English translation in the public domain, an update of the American Standard Version of 1901. Everything else in the app—menus, plate notes, chapter study, Word of the day—is written in English too. Siloam follows the Protestant canon. The deuterocanonical books of the Catholic Bible—Tobit, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach and Baruch—and the Greek additions to Esther and Daniel are not in this edition. PRIVACY No account, no ads, no tracking. Your highlights, your notes and what you have read stay on your phone; nothing is sent to any server of ours. If Android backup is on, the system itself keeps a copy in your Google account, as it does for your other apps. The app itself goes online at four moments only, each one started by you: the one-time download of the text and study material, the first time you open it; buying a plan, through Google Play; the one-time download of the plates, if you bought them; and, if you compare with an edition in another language, the one-time download of that edition. ONE-TIME PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION The Free plan never expires. Illustrated, Complete and Researcher are one-time purchases: each one includes everything in the plan before it, and moving up costs no more than the difference. The name comes from the Pool of Siloam, where the man born blind washed and came back seeing (John 9). Questions and suggestions: [email protected]
