Podmail

Podmail is email you own. Most email services keep your messages on their servers. Podmail keeps them in your own Solid Pod: a private online datastore that belongs to you. Your mail is encrypted on your phone before it is saved, with a key only you hold. Nobody else can read it. Not us, and not your Pod host. YOUR MAIL, YOUR POD • Your messages are stored in your Pod, not on our servers. • Choose where your Pod lives, or get a free Pod when you sign up. • Claim your own free @podmail.me email address. • Your Pod and your mail go with you. Use the same mailbox on your phone, your computer or the web. YOU HOLD THE KEYS • You create a security key when you first log in. • Your mail is encrypted and decrypted only on your device. • Mail between Podmail users is encrypted end to end. • Keep your security key somewhere safe. Without it, your mail can't be unlocked. WORKS WITH EVERYDAY EMAIL Podmail is not a walled garden. Send to and receive from people on Gmail, Outlook, iCloud and many other email services. The people you write to don't need anything special. EVERYTHING YOU NEED, NOTHING YOU DON'T • Read, write, reply and delete. • Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Trash and Spam folders. • Spam filtering that checks new mail before it reaches your Pod. • A clean, simple design, with light and dark themes. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No ads. • No tracking or analytics. • No selling or sharing your data. • Podmail is built on Solid, an open standard for storing personal data, stewarded by the Open Data Institute. GETTING STARTED 1. Register for a free Pod, or log in with the Pod you already have. 2. Create your security key and save it in a safe place. 3. Claim your free @podmail.me address in Settings. 4. Start sending and receiving mail. MADE IN AUSTRALIA Podmail is made by Private Insights, a small Australian team building privacy-first software. We work with the Australian National University Software Innovation Institute. Podmail is free to use. If you find it useful, you can support its development with an optional donation in the app. Learn more at https://podmail.me Privacy policy: https://podmail.me/privacy-policy/
