Full description
Stones! - a game that bridges the gap between Checkers and Chess. The rules are easy to understand but require a deep level of strategic thinking. The Stones! app shows you the valid moves for each turn, making it quick and easy to learn how to play. Play against the AI to develop your skills, then challenge the world online via the Stones! servers, or challenge your friends on the same device. Attack, defend and then rush to the finish line - Stones! will challenge your checker board skills in a new and surprising way. The official rules of Stones! The aim: Get as many of your stones to the other side of the board whilst preventing your opponent from doing the same. Setup: Stones is a game for two players. Eight white stones are assigned to the first player and eight black stones are assigned to the second player. The white stones are placed along the edge of the board in front of the first player and the black stones are placed along the opposite edge of the board in front of the second player. All stones are placed with the red cross facing down. A stone with a red cross facing DOWN is UNPINNED. A stone with the red cross facing UP is PINNED. The rules: - Players take turns moving a single stone of their color until one player can no longer move any of their stones. - White moves first. - A stone can only jump once per turn. - A stone becomes pinned when jumped by an opponent. - A stone becomes unpinned when jumped by an ally. - An unpinned stone cannot be jumped by an ally. - An pinned stone cannot be jumped by an opponent. - An unpinned stone can only move diagonally forward towards the opposite player, for any number of squares until it encounters another stone, at which point it may jump an unpinned opponent or a pinned ally and then proceed no further. - An unpinned stone can also jump to the immediate left or right over an unpinned opponent or a pinned ally. - A pinned stone cannot be moved. The winner: - is the player with the most UNPINNED stones of their color on the opposite side of the board.
