Power Saver: Solar Sharer App

Take advantage of the Australian free energy window. Power Saver tells you when your electricity is free each day and helps you schedule your appliances in that window. Many Australian households can now get three hours of free electricity a day. The Solar Sharer offer has been available in New South Wales, south-east Queensland and South Australia since 1 July 2026. Victoria's version, the Victorian Midday Power Saver, started on 1 October 2026. Several retailers also sell their own plans with free hours. Sign up for a plan with your retailer to get them. Free hours only help if you run more when power is free. Power Saver helps you build the behaviour to save. HOW IT WORKS 1. Set your free power window. The default is 11 am to 2 pm. Change it to match your plan, for example 12 pm to 3 pm in South Australia. 2. Add your appliances. Pick your make and model, or start with a typical one. 3. Tap an appliance to schedule it on any of the next 7 days. 4. Get a reminder when the window opens. You press start. 5. See your estimated savings for today, this month and all time. WHAT YOU SEE • A countdown to your next free power window • The delay to set on your appliance's timer so it starts when the window opens • How many washing or dryer loads fit in the window, and the latest start time when a run is long • An estimated saving for every run, worked out from your own electricity rate • Reminders when the free window starts, and 10 minutes before it ends SUPPORTS MOST MAJOR APPLIANCES Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, air conditioners, pool pumps, EV chargers, kettles, ovens, space heaters, dehumidifiers, microwaves, irons and vacuums. You can add your own too. Consumption figures come from official Australian Energy Rating data, the same registrations behind the star labels in the shop. EV charger figures come from the SolarQuotes charger directory. GOOD TO KNOW • Savings are estimates based on your rate, your window and typical appliance figures. Treat them as a guide, not a quote or a guarantee. • Your retailer and your plan set the free hours, the limits and who is eligible. Solar Sharer plans need a smart meter, cap free use at 24 kWh a day and still charge the daily supply charge.
