You Speak Up

You Speak Up is a free way to tell your town what is working and what is not. Every city, town and county in the country has a place here. Search yours, open it, and say what you have seen. It is anonymous by default. You never have to give your name. HOW IT WORKS Find your community, choose what your concern is about, and write it in your own words. What you send is counted alongside everyone else's. When many neighbors raise the same thing, that becomes a documented trend a council can be shown. ANONYMOUS BY DEFAULT You are never required to give your name. Your name, address, email and phone number are never shown to anyone, including the resident who runs your community portal. Your words are only quoted publicly if you agreed to it. You can see everything you have sent and withdraw any of it at any time, and you can delete everything connected to you whenever you want. MORE THAN A COMPLAINT BOX See when your council and boards meet and add a meeting to your own calendar. Sign petitions. Answer quick polls about the town. WHO RUNS IT Each community portal is run by an independent resident or community group, never by a government and never by anyone running for office. Every portal says so on every page.
