Check the permission list yourself before you install. It works in airplane mode, on a plane, in a basement, or with mobile data switched off. PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY Camera permission is used for the live preview. Microphone permission is only used if you record video with sound, and you can decline it and still record silently.
