Barkerway

Barkerway is built for independent dog walkers and pet sitters who want to spend less time on admin and more time with the animals. Whether you walk one dog or run a full rounds-based business, Barkerway keeps everything in one place — from client details to invoices, and every visit in between. --- 📋 CLIENT & PET MANAGEMENT Store everything you need to know about each client and their pets in one place — dogs, cats, and whoever else lives in the house. Breeds, birthdays, vet details, photos, and custom tags (like "Reactive" or "Needs lead only") so the important things are visible at a glance. Key safe codes, alarm details and anything else sensitive go in a separate secure notes field, protected by fingerprint, face unlock or your device PIN, and encrypted at rest. --- 🗓️ SCHEDULING THAT WORKS LIKE YOU DO Book one-off services, set up recurring visits, and bundle several pets from different households into a single outing — each owner still gets invoiced separately. Every service gets an approximate arrival time — "around 9am", not a fake 09:00–09:45 slot — plus a duration that fills in automatically from the service type you chose. No fixed end times, no GPS tracking, just flexible scheduling that reflects how the job actually works. Barkerway shows the estimated travel time and distance between each stop, so you can spot straight away when you've booked yourself somewhere you can't get to in time. --- 🚗 MILEAGE TRACKING FOR HMRC No GPS. Nothing running in the background draining your battery. Barkerway estimates your daily driving from the addresses on your round — home, each stop in the order you actually do them, any regular walking spot, and back again. HMRC's approved rates are applied automatically (45p a mile up to 10,000 miles, 25p after). Every figure is editable by hand, and the whole year exports as a report you can hand to your accountant or type straight into your self-assessment. --- 🧾 INVOICING Generate a per-client invoice from work you've already logged — a single service or a whole month of them. Add your business details, bank details and logo, set your payment terms, mark invoices paid or unpaid, and export as a PDF to send however you like. Professional-looking invoices, even if you're just starting out. --- 💼 YOUR SERVICES, YOUR PRICES Set up your own service types — 30-minute pop-in, 1-hour group walk, overnight sit, whatever you offer — each with a default price and duration. Override the price for individual clients where you've agreed something different. --- 💻 A COMPANION WEB APP There's a web app too, so the fiddly typing — adding new clients, sorting out invoices, setting up your business details — can be done on a proper keyboard and picked up again on your phone. --- 🔒 YOUR DATA Client names, addresses and secure notes are encrypted before they're stored. Nobody's location is tracked, ever. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time. --- Built for one-person businesses. No team seats, no client-facing app to persuade anyone to install, no card readers. Just the record-keeping, scheduling and invoicing a solo walker actually needs, on a phone that spends most of its day in a pocket. Built in the UK, for UK dog walkers and pet sitters.
