Vela

Vela is a stigma-free dating app for people living with HSV, HPV, HIV, Hep B or C. No disclaimers required. No anxious reveals. Just real connection. WHY VELA EXISTS 40 million Americans live with herpes. 80 million live with HPV. Yet every other dating app turns these into anxiety-laden conversations before a first date. Vela was built around a simple idea: when everyone here shares this context, you get to lead with who you are — not what you have. WHO IT'S FOR You're here because you're tired of: • Hedging your profile or hiding behind vague language • Stigmatized "the talk" before getting close to someone new • Wondering if disclosure will end a connection before it starts • Mainstream dating apps that don't get it REAL HUMANS, EVERY TIME Every Vela member completes face verification before joining. No catfish. No bot profiles. We use AI-assisted liveness checks similar to what banks use to confirm identity — and our team reviews edge cases by hand. YOUR HEALTH DATA STAYS YOURS We designed Vela to keep health information private by default. You decide whether to display conditions on your profile, who can see them, and when to share with matches. Sensitive details are protected with strong encryption even on our own infrastructure, we limit what's accessible to us. You're always in control of: • What conditions appear on your public profile • Which matches you share more detail with • Whether to revoke access at any time KEY FEATURES • Swipe-based matching with people who understand • Encrypted in-app chat with reactions, replies, and read receipts • Optional private photo albums you grant access to per match • Granular health-status sharing controls • Face verification for every member • AI-generated profile avatars (for when you want a stylized look) • No ads. Ever. • We do not sell user data. Ever. LAUNCHING IN USA and Canada More regions opening through 2026. QUESTIONS OR FEEDBACK We're a small team building this with care.
