Vagara: Hiking & Walking

Vagara is a hiking and walking app: record your hikes, walks and runs, keep a Life List of the wildlife you see and collect badges. RECORD YOUR WALK Start recording with one tap. Vagara tracks your distance, time, speed and elevation change and draws your route on the map. You can put your phone in your pocket; recording continues in the background. When you finish, the walk and its stats are saved to your profile. You can import GPX files, and with Premium you can export the routes you record as GPX to use on other devices. LIFE LIST Log the birds, butterflies, trees and flowers you see as sightings. Species add up in your Life List, along with when and where you saw them. BADGES AND CHALLENGES Earn badges by completing routes, spotting species and adding up distance. Some badges have tiers: the more you walk a route, the more stars you get. Monthly challenges help you set your own goals. COMMUNITY Share your walk or keep it to yourself. Your recordings are private by default, and others only see them when you choose to publish. Discover shared routes, comment, follow other hikers and join groups and events. Community safety matters: every post can be reported and every user can be blocked. Harassment, hate speech and illegal content are not tolerated. CURATED ROUTES AND MAPS IN TÜRKIYE Vagara's curated content currently covers Türkiye: 70+ ready-made routes from the Lycian Way to Kaçkar and Cappadocia, and 160+ hand-picked spots such as ancient cities, castles, caravanserais, historic bridges and nature spots. Vagara runs its own map infrastructure for Türkiye, so when you plan a route there, the calculated path matches the trail you see on the map. Outside Türkiye, the map shows roads, trails and place names, but route planning is not available there yet. Recording, sightings, badges and the community work anywhere. More regions are on the way. VAGARA PREMIUM An optional subscription unlocks: • Offline maps for routes in Türkiye, even in a valley with no signal • GPX export: take your tracks to other apps and devices • Advanced stats: personal records, pace and region breakdown • Unlimited saved routes: free accounts can save up to 15 The core of the app works without Premium: recording, map, sightings, badges and community. ABOUT LOCATION DATA Vagara uses your location to show routes near you and to record activities. Background location is only used while a recording is in progress, so your route isn't cut off when the phone is in your pocket. When you stop recording, background tracking stops completely. Your GPS tracks are private by default and no one can see them unless you share them. SAFETY Routes on Vagara are created by the community and are not guaranteed to be officially waymarked. Before you set out, check the weather, your gear, your fitness and any permits you need. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye and across Europe).
