Before the link opens, it goes through layered checks: the sites we already trust, Google's malicious-site protection (Web Risk), and pattern rules that catch brand lookalikes like "paypa1", risky domain endings, and links that bounce through several sites. You get one of three answers, in plain English: fine to open, worth a second look, or blocked. Blocked links need a deliberate press-and-hold to override — no accidental taps.
