Full description
Some timers shout at you. This one pours you a coffee. Paws & Beans is a Pomodoro focus timer wrapped in a tiny pixel cafe. You order a brew, the timer starts, and your dog settles down beside you until it is done. No streaks lost to a missed day, no red badges, no one telling you that you are behind. Just a warm room, a lo-fi station, and something small to look after. A CAFE THAT KEEPS TIME WITH YOU The cafe lives on your clock. Morning light comes through the window, the afternoon goes gold, evening settles into lamplight. Rain runs down the glass when it is raining. Sit down at midnight and the room is quiet and dark, with one lamp on. FOCUS SESSIONS THAT FEEL LIKE A BREAK Pick a brew and the length comes with it — an espresso for a short sprint, a slow pour for deep work. The classic Pomodoro rhythm is there if you want it, and you can ignore it if you do not. Do Not Disturb switches on for the length of the session, so the one thing a focus app protects — your attention — is not lost to somebody else's group chat. MUSIC, FREE, ALL OF IT Sixteen hand-picked lo-fi and ambient radio stations: instrumental hip hop, chilled ambient, jazz, lounge and vocals. Plus house tracks the app writes itself, note by note, that work with no connection at all. Every station is free. There is no premium music tier. A DOG, AND THEN MORE DOGS Taco the shiba is waiting when you open the app. Focus long enough and you can bring home seven more companions, each with their own idle animations and their own way of flopping over when the session ends. BEANS YOU ACTUALLY EARN Focused minutes pay out in coffee beans, and beans buy things for the cafe: hats and bandanas for your dog, pastries, plants, lamps, rugs, and new rooms to work in. Nothing is bought with real money that cannot also be earned by turning up. KEEP THE THREAD Daily streaks, a journal of every session, badges for the milestones worth marking, and postcards from your dog that arrive as you go. Sign in if you want your progress to survive a new phone — it is free, and entirely optional. The app works completely without an account. PAWS & BEANS PRO One payment, or a small monthly one. Pro unlocks extra dog companions, more cafe rooms, and more to spend your beans on. That is all it is: things to look at. Every timer feature, every station, and progress backup are free for everyone, forever. WHAT WE DO NOT DO No ads. No advertising ID. Nothing sold or shared with anyone. The app counts how it gets used — which screens you open, which features you reach for — so we know what to build next. Nothing you write goes with it: your task list and your journal never leave the phone, and neither do your sessions and streaks. Made for students, writers, developers, designers, and anyone who works better with something warm nearby. Study timer, work timer, deep work companion — and a dog who is very pleased you sat down.

What's new

Taco has made himself at home. • He has a better shape: a deep chest, proper back legs and a tail that suits his breed. • Between brews he blinks, looks round, and now and then sits, lies down, sniffs or scratches. • Five home-screen icons in Settings. Classic is free; four more come with Pro. Your pick appears once you leave the app. • Light buttons get dark labels, so they are easy to read.
