Full description
NOT A GOVERNMENT APP: Okla is an independent directory. It does not represent any government entity — not the U.S. government, the Indian Health Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, or any tribal nation — and it is not affiliated with any of them. Okla does not run any program, take applications, or decide eligibility. Each program provider makes the final decision. Okla helps Native people find assistance programs they may qualify for — tribal, urban Indian, nonprofit and federal — in one place, without an account and without an internet connection. Pick a category, choose your tribe, and add a ZIP code. Okla sorts programs into Best Matches, programs that may fit, and ones worth checking — and says plainly when a service area couldn't be confirmed. Every listing gives plain-language eligibility, contact information, how to apply, and a link to the provider's own official page. WHAT'S INSIDE • More than 1,250 programs across 16 categories: Medical, Dental, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Housing, Financial Assistance, Food, Utilities, Education, Employment, Child Care, Youth Programs, Elder Care, Veterans, Legal and more • Listings from 29 tribal nations, including Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), Seminole, Osage, Comanche, Kiowa, Kickapoo, Miami and others in Oklahoma, plus Navajo Nation, Gila River, Standing Rock, Fort Peck, Eastern Band of Cherokee and Mississippi Band of Choctaw • Urban Indian organizations in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area • Scholarships and national programs open to Native students and families HOW IT WORKS • Works offline. The full catalog is on your phone, so browsing and matching work in airplane mode, on a reservation with no signal, or anywhere else. • Private by design. Your tribe and ZIP code stay in memory on your device and are never saved or sent anywhere. No account, no ads, no analytics. • You can select any of the 575 federally recognized tribes. Tribes whose programs haven't been researched yet still see the cross-tribal and open-to-all programs they may qualify for. • Any U.S. ZIP code works. Okla matches it to its county on your device and checks each program's service area against it. OFFICIAL SOURCES Every listing is researched by hand from the provider's official website and application materials, links to that official page inside the app, and shows the date it was last checked. The main official sources are: • Tribal nation programs — each tribe's official website, for example Cherokee Nation (https://www.cherokee.gov), Choctaw Nation (https://www.choctawnation.com), Chickasaw Nation (https://www.chickasaw.net), Muscogee (Creek) Nation (https://www.mcn-nsn.gov) and Osage Nation (https://www.osagenation-nsn.gov) • Indian Health Service — https://www.ihs.gov • Bureau of Indian Affairs — https://www.bia.gov • Federally recognized tribes list — Federal Register, 91 FR 4102 (January 30, 2026): https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/01/30/2026-01899/indian-entities-recognized-by-and-eligible-to-receive-services-from-the-united-states-bureau-of • LIHEAP energy assistance — U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/ocs/programs/liheap • ZIP code to county matching — U.S. Census Bureau relationship files: https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/relationship-files.html Programs change — confirm details with the provider before you apply. See a mistake? Every listing has a "Report a problem" link.
