Full description
A care journal for your bonsai, and the only one that watches the sky. A pot has neither the mass nor the inertia of open ground. Its roots freeze several degrees sooner, its substrate dries out in half a day. Niwa watches the forecast where you grow and warns you in time. WEATHER ALERTS Frost, temperatures above 91 °F, hail, thunderstorms, high wind. You are warned the evening before, then again the same morning, in time to bring a pot in or water it. Niwa accounts for wintering: no alert is sent for the bonsai you have moved indoors. THE JOURNAL Watering, pruning, fertilizer, wiring, repotting, treatment. Each care task is logged with its date and stays in the tree's history. Its profile keeps its species, style, substrate and wintering, chosen from 783 species and 24 classical styles. REMINDERS Recurring care is scheduled once. The reminder arrives the evening before, then on the morning of the day itself. A morning watering left unchecked is raised again at 1 pm, while the afternoon still allows it. PHOTOS Add a photo now and then. You then pick two, an older one and a recent one: they show side by side, with the time between them. FREE AND PREMIUM The free plan follows three bonsai, with ten photos each. Premium lifts both limits and opens the weather alerts. A 14-day trial is offered, with no credit card: when it ends it stops, and you decide next. WHAT NIWA DOES NOT DO No advertising. No data resold. No tracking, no analytics, no attribution tool: nothing follows you across other apps, which is why Niwa never asks for permission to do so. Your data is hosted in the European Union, and exports at any time as a readable file. Niwa is built by one person, in Lyon, France. It grew out of a real collection, and the wish to stop finding the damage on the way back from a weekend away. French, English, Spanish, German. Metric or imperial units to match your region, Celsius or Fahrenheit included.
