Full description
Namecurve is a baby name browser built on United States Social Security Administration records from 1880 to 2025. It holds 40,679 names, and every name comes with the popularity curve behind it. Browse Swipe through names one at a time. Swipe right to keep a name, left to pass. If you change your mind, undo steps back through the last twenty cards. Name detail Open any name to see how often it was given in each year since 1880, its all-time peak, where it ranks today, and how its spelling variants compare side by side. Ashley, Ashleigh and Ashlee each have their own curve. Filter Narrow the deck by gender, rarity, trend direction, name length and first letter, in any combination. The remaining count updates while you choose, so you can see when a filter is getting too narrow. If your conditions leave too few names, the app widens them and tells you exactly which conditions it widened. Exact matches stay at the front of the deck. Search Type a name to see its curve, its rank today, its all-time peak and its spelling variants. Match with your partner Each of you swipes on your own phone, then shares the saved list through any messaging app. The names you both kept come back as matches. The matching runs on the two phones and nothing is uploaded. Saved list The saved list has no cap. Saved names are stored on the device. Where the numbers come from Every figure in the app comes from United States Social Security Administration baby name data for 1880 to 2025, which is in the public domain. The SSA lists a name for a given year only when at least five babies were registered with it, so the counts for very rare names are incomplete. The Sources screen inside the app states this. Namecurve does not show name meanings, origins or personality descriptions, because those are not part of the data. Privacy Namecurve runs entirely offline and has no servers. It declares no permissions and has no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. Saved names and a partner's shared list stay on the device and are removed when the app is deleted.

What's new
