Full description
Lilac is the easiest way to message someone without handing over your phone number, email, or a password. No signup. No account. Open the app and you can be reached immediately — Lilac creates a private "mailbox" for you on the spot. To connect with someone, you just share a link or show a QR code. They open it, and you can start talking. SHARE A LINK, NOT YOUR NUMBER With phone numbers and email, once you give them out you can't take them back. With Lilac you share a disposable invite instead. Change your mind? Delete it, and nothing about you is left on the other person's side. PRIVATE BY DESIGN, NOT BY EXTRA WORK Your messages are end-to-end encrypted. The relay that carries them only ever sees scrambled data — never your messages, never who you are. There are no ads, no analytics, and no trackers. Privacy isn't a setting you switch on; it's just how Lilac works. SURVIVES YOUR NEXT PHONE Most private messengers lose everything when you change or lose your phone. Lilac is built so your contacts and conversations come with you: • Line up your old and new phone and transfer with a QR code in seconds. • Or keep a 12-word recovery phrase as your safety net. SIMPLE, KIND LANGUAGE No cryptographic jargon. Lilac talks about mailboxes and invites, not keys and ciphers. It's made to feel like the simplest chat app you've used — the privacy is the quiet part underneath. WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY • Get a private mailbox the moment you open the app — no login. • Invite someone with a link or a QR code. • Exchange end-to-end encrypted messages, one to one. • Move everything to a new phone without typing a single password. Lilac is in early access. We'd love your feedback.

What's new

A fresh new look for Lilac. • New letters now arrive as envelopes: new, opened, or sent, at a glance. • Swipe a friend left to take their invite back. • Your invite is now a sticker-style QR code. • Dark mode that follows your phone's setting.
